The Mosaic Workshop
Written By Lynn Adamo
Our Italian adventure centered on the mosaic workshop with Arianna and Helen. The study and project was focused on the mid century mosaic on the Post Office in Alessandria, Piemonte created by Gino Severini. Well ahead of our workshop our instructors sent us a selection of details from the large mural for each of us to choose to interpret. They did a lot of work to prepare the materials each of us would need for our project. We had four full days and two half-days to work. The tour was structured so that on the other half days we had an afternoon of touring interesting places around the area, along with lunches and dinners, of course!
