Glenbrook, Blue Mountains
We took the train from Sydney about an hour west, into the Blue Mountains for a four day visit with Marian and David, friends I met through mosaics. They visited us in Bend 8 years ago, and we were all excited to be able to visit them, finally!

Our Hike in the Blue Mountains
Not far from their house, we reached a big natural park. The weather was unseasonably warm, so we started out early to try and beat some of the heat. Our waterfall walk was nice an shady, and the cool of the waterfalls helped us from getting too hot for the first part of the day.
Our Outing to Katoomba
Marian suggested taking a day trip to Katoomba would be nice. It was a picturesque tourist destination in the Blue Mountains, not far from Glenbrook.
Last Night and Flying Home
We came back to Sydney for two nights before flying home. We got a hotel very near the airport, also convenient to the trains. We were able to pack in a bunch more sightseeing in new neighborhoods and our last full day was when we did the Opera House tour.
